Property Administrator

Salary - £25,000 (pro-rata)

Permanent role - 22.5hrs per week

Portsmouth Naval Base Property Trust is a charitable property company responsible for the conservation and reuse of the buildings in Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. Our main role is that of landlord and guardian of the historic buildings in the publicly accessible part of Portsmouth Naval Base. We are responsible for keeping the buildings in our care in a good state of repair, for collecting rent and service charges from tenants and for refurbishing empty and redundant buildings, for appropriate new commercial uses.

The Trust is establishing a new part-time role to provide administrative support to our Estates Manager and Building Surveyor on a variety of property management functions including:

  • Service charge recovery and budgets
  • Appointment of service costs and insurance charges
  • Utilities billing, and
  • Rent collection

The post holder will need to work closely with the Accounts Team on invoicing and debtor monitoring and will be responsible for preparing budget information and associated reporting.  They will also be the primary point of contact for tenant enquiries.

 

Previous property administration experience is essential.  The successful candidate will have strong organisation and numeracy skills, with experience of using spreadsheets to manage and report on a variety of budget and billing processes.  They must also demonstrate a strong customer service focus.

The Property Administrator will work 22.5 hours per week, with working pattern to be agreed with the successful candidate.

Boatbuilding Instructor

Salary  - £32,000 + benefits

We are looking for a shipwright instructor to join our expanding College team, training students of all ages to the highest standards of craftsmanship in traditional boatbuilding. 

You will be based in Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, a centre of shipbuilding and boatbuilding for over 800 years, and will be involved in the restoration of important vessels as well as in the construction of new and replica vessels. A breadth of traditional boatbuilding knowledge and experience, combined with a passion to pass on your skills to inspire others through effective communication, are the qualities we seek. Previous teaching experience is not essential. This is an on-going and potentially long-term contract. Applicants must be available from April 2020.
