Portsmouth Naval Base Property Trust was set up in 1985 by the Ministry of Defence and Portsmouth City Council. Its initial purpose was to take responsibility for the long-term preservation of the historic south-west corner of Portsmouth Naval Base which had been released under the 1982 Defence Review.

It was also intended to safeguard any further historic defence estate which might either be released in the future by the MOD or become available on the open market. The Trust is therefore a property development agency specialising in the re-use of historic buildings within Portsmouth Historic Dockyard that have an association with the Naval Base.

Impact of Covid-19

The Trust closed down it's operational activities in late March, in line with Government advice on the Covid-19 epidemic.  We continue to operate with a skeleton staff at this time.  If you need to contact the Trust urgently please call 023 9282 0921 or email office@pnbpt.com and we shall do our best to answer you as soon as we are able to do so with the limited resources available to us at this time.

We hope we shall be resuming our normal operations soon.  Meanwhile we appreciate your continued understanding and hope that you and your loved ones keep safe and follow the advice being offered by the Government at this time.

Partial Reopening of the Historic Dockyard

Good news!  Portsmouth Historic Dockyard will be reopening some of the attractions to the public on 24 August on a pre-booked basis.  Please visit the Historic Dockyard website www.historicdockyard.co.uk for further details.  Free entry to Boathouse 4 will not be immediately available but we hope that this will be reintroduced toward the end of October.
