The oldest surviving building in Portsmouth Naval Base, orignally the residence of the Dockyard Porter who was responsible for guarding security of the yard and its boundaries, and for opening and locking the Dockyard gates.
The refurbished building won a Commendation in the Portsmouth Society's Best Restoration Awards 1994. |
