Visitor Car Park and Admiralty Quarter

Admiralty Quarter is constructed on the site of the Brickwoods Brewery, which was purchased by Portsmouth Naval Base Property Trust in 1992, demolished and turned into a surface car park for visitors to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard at a capital cost of £2.6m. The Trust sold the site to Crest Nicholson in 2006 and the new development was completed in 2008.  It comprises 566 apartments and  new retail units on Queen Street.  The Trust retains ground rents for the apartments and the three retail units.

A new 297-space car park for visitors to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard has been constructed underneath Admiralty Quarter (completed summer 2008). Built to high specifications, it is spacious, well-lit and staffed continuously during opening hours. Lavatories and baby-change facilities are provided, along with visitor information on opening times and prices of the Historic Dockyard attractions. The car park is available to hire for functions held in the Historic Dockyard, the Naval Base or the Royal Maritime Club.
