In January 2009 works commenced to extend the Porter’s Garden to the area around the Boathouse 6 stair tower.  The Friends of the Porter’s Garden working with Sir Colin Stansfield Smith, one of our architectural Trustees,  produced a design to provide soft landscaping, a new approach to Boathouse 6, visitor seating and an area for the display of garden sculpture.

 

The finished Raised Garden was formally opened by Mr Mike Hall, Chairman of Hampshire Gardens Trust, on 20 March 2009.
